Rose Elena Edwards James departed this life on Sunday evening, October 24, 2021.

She passed away at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, with her loving family by her side.

Rose was born October 25, 1964 to Herbert and Velma James of Galveston. She was their fifth child. Rose was a very loving, compasiionate and a beautiful spirited person. She always thought of others rather than herself. She was so much fun to be around. She will be greatly missed.

The most important thing in Rose's life was that she accepted Christ as her personal savior.

Now, although she is absent from the body, she is present with the Lord.

Rose was preceded in death by her father Herbert Joseph James Sr., her mother Velma James, her sister Katy Mills and her brother Herbert (Bodie) Joseph James Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her son, Rupert Edwards; her siblings, Ralph (Pete) Anderson, Sharon Elaine Anderson, and Susie Laneise Carter (Dwayne); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Private Memorial Service to be held at a later date.
