ROBERT “ROGER” WILSON was born in Bedias, Texas on June 19, 1945. His parents were Andrew (“AJ”), and Lenora Rigbsy-Wilson. He was educated by the LaMarque School System and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. While in high school, he was very active in UIL Choir, sports, and church activities.
After graduation, Roger and his friend Jimmy Saldana enlisted in the Air Force and volunteered to serve in Vietnam. After completing 4 years in the military, Roger began to focus on his next career. After completing Mortuary Science School, Roger served as the Funeral Director and/or Mortician for some widely known Texas Funeral Homes including: Hannah Funeral Home in Port Arthur and Black & Clark in Dallas.
After working for years in the funeral business, Roger decided that once again, he needed a change. He began working for Monsanto Chemical Plant in Alvin, Texas, and found that it was pretty easy to work both positions most weeks.
Roger loved ALL sports, but particularly loved to attend high school football games, and enjoyed cheering for the local Houston teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Wilson and Lenora Rigsby-Wilson, and his siblings, Nicky Carol Wilson-Porter, Roy Lee Wilson, and Ardie Mae Wilson-Preadom.
Roger leaves to cherish his memory: Wife, Dr. Caryl Carter Wilson; Daughters: Kristi Robinson Parker, Nikki Brooks (Erik Brooks), and Camille Wilson; Grandchildren: Rayvon Parker, Zachary Brooks; Sister: Joann Wilson Freeman, and a whole host of family and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Hope Church Pearland. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral at 12:00 pm. The interment will be at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland. The Repast immediately to follow at Hope Church Pearland.
