Pamela Petteway Bennett was gifted to us on April 10, 1957, by her loving parents, Minnie and Robert Petteway Sr in Galveston, Texas. She lived a long and beautiful life, always helping others and spreading joy and love wherever she went. On February 8, 2026, she peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion.
A natural caregiver, Pamela devoted much of her life to serving others. She worked in healthcare, compassionately caring for those in need, and later opened her heart and home through childcare and fostering. She lovingly helped raise and nurture countless children — many who were not her own by birth, but forever hers by love. To many, she was Mama, Grandma, comforter, and safe place. Truly the best mom and grandmother anyone could ask for.
She never went a day without praising God and encouraging everyone around her to live their best life. She was a strong woman with the kindest spirit — a guiding light to all who knew her.
To cherish and carry on her memory, she leaves behind her children Lakisha, Terry (Meschia), and Lyas (Latrina); her beloved grandchildren, Kaneia, Regginald Jr., Ambrielle, Taeya, Lyrianna, Lakenzie, Lyza, Lyas Jr, and TJ; and her brothers, Terry and Robert Jr.
We rejoice in the time we were blessed to share with her and the memories we will forever hold in our hearts. She fought her hardest battle until she could no longer fight. Now she rests in peace, joy, and comfort with her Heavenly Father and the many loved ones who welcomed her home.
May your heart be filled with love and comfort whenever you think of Pamela Petteway Bennett.
