Marian Ruth Wilson was born in Calhoun County to the late Reverend Ira James and Lady Myrtle Thompson on September 26th, 1943. Marian was a devoted nurse for over 40 years who touched countless lives with her kindness. She had a dedicated compassion for helping others and always put her patients first. She brought joy to the lives of those she served. Lastly, she always went above and beyond to ensure the well-being of her patients. During her profession, she worked in a variety of specialties including Dialysis, Orthopedics, Geriatrics and Med Surg just to name a few.

She was one of 14 children born to this union. She is preceded in death by her sisters; Alice Ora Thompson. Jacqueline Kingston, Evelyn Jones, Stella Wilkins. Brothers; Bennie Joe, Eugene, Jeremiah, Charles Henry, Henry Charles, Billy Wayne and Ira James. Grandson, Adrian Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Cheryl Campbell (Fred)- Texas City and Cynthia Wilson-Hopkins (Rhonda)-Atlanta, Georgia. Sisters; Evangelyn Allen and Janis Carol Thompson – Fort Worth, TX. Grandchildren; Juanita Bryant (Jomar)- Galveston, Sidney Wilson (Brandi)-Houston, Anthony Campbell-Galveston, Za’kayvia, A’leaynah, David, Davion, Ma’kiemzli, Brianah, and Honesti Wilson-Hopkins –Atlanta, Georgia. Great grandchildren: Jayla, Makayla and Jaeden Frenchwood –Galveston and Anaya Medina-Wilson – Port Lavaca. A very special thank you to Mom’s God-daughter, Marion Hilton, who dedicated years working tirelessly side by side with Mom during her time of illness.
