John Freddie Provost, son of the late Eunice Benoit-Provost and Joseph Provost Sr.,was born February 25, 1951, in Galveston, Texas. He attended the public schools of Galveston Independent School District.
John received Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Galveston, Texas.
John quietly departed this life Saturday, June 13, 2026.John lived a joyous life. He retired from Pepsi-Cola Industries after 35 years as a filler operator. The things besides family and friends that brought him joy were dancing, shooting pool, playing cards, and dominoes. And if you knew John, you knew that he loved to dress and was a die-hard Washington Redskins/Commanders fan. His style of hats and his many styles of shades became his signature. His spirit will forever live in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother Eunice Benoit-Provost, father Joseph Provost Sr., brother Joseph Provost Jr., sisters Maxine Provost Banks and Frances Provost, and his loving wife Linda Provost.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children, John Provost Jr. (Sherita), Delores Provost, and Johnisha Provost; devoted siblings, Hazel Provost Burrell, Deborah Provost, and Nathan Provost; his grandchildren, D’Andre Provost (Amber), Jayson Saldana (Janeshia), Destini Williams, Devante Williams, Maliya Hess, and Tia Hampton; 12 great-grandchildren; his dedicated and devoted best friend, Marshall Plattenberg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
