John Anthony Lovings was born March 9, 1945 and passed away on September 10, 2021. His parents were Zealous Mayberry & Dora Hasker. His loving wife was Shirley L. Lovings; siblings: Zerlene, T. Bertha & Joann Jones; children: Bonnie Reed, Randy Lovings, Renee McCoy, Audrey Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters and one Son. The visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 12:00 noon. Both visitation and funeral service will be held at Wynn Funeral Home, 602 32nd Street, Galveston, Tx 77550. Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Cemetery.

John was a graduate of Central High School. He married Shirley Louise Lovings on February 1, 1965 to this union were 5 children. He worked at Texas City BP Amoco Oil refinery for 20 years. He served 2 years in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He obtained an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from College of the Mainland; BS in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University; Certified Substance Counselor; Mentored as CEO in the privately owned Ellen Kilroy Foundation.
