Henrietta Mariah "Teatsie" Sykes was born to the union of the Late; Joseph and Ada Mae Dozier-Sykes, March 30, 1936, in Galveston, TX. Henrietta attended Galveston Public Schools and was a graduate of Central High School "Bearcats" Class of 1954. Teatsie was a long-time employee of Galveston ISD- Food & Nutrition Department. Teatsie later attended Galveston College Continuing Education Classes earning her CNA Certification and served several elderly patients in the Galveston area as a Home Health Care Provider. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Ada Sykes, her two brothers; Joseph "Honey Bear" Sykes, Donald "Goose" Sykes, and her Sister Desiree Clark. Henrietta is survived by her sister; Gina Charles-Stubblefield (Her long-time care provider), a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, very close friend Pauline Cepheus of Houston, TX and many other adopted family and friends. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by Funeral service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 2127 37th Street, Galveston, TX.
