Dorcey Calvin Jr., 79 of Galveston TX passed on Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was born on March 19, 1943 in New Orleans, LA to Dorcey and Albirda Calvin, Sr.

Dorcey was a truck driver for over 40 years. Independently owning and operating his trucks for multiple companies over the years. His health eventually forced him into retirement. He loved trying to fix anything that didn't have instructions. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his buddies Harrison, Frenchie, and Poppa Brown in the garage. Dorcey also enjoyed watching basketball and was a big James Harden fan. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted wife Josie Rogers Calvin of Galveston, TX. Daughters Alfreda Wyche of Hitchcock, TX; Katina Calvin-Williams (Todd) of Texas City, TX; Sons Clinton Calvin (Monique) of Gonzales, LA; Tyrone Calvin (Tracie) of La Marque, TX; Mitchell Calvin Sr.(Tyronda) of Texas City, TX; Godchildren, Otha Lee Caldwell and Ruddell Morris. 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 10:00AM. Followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00AM at Wynn Funeral Home. 602 32nd St Galveston, TX. Pastor Louis Simpson, officiating.
