Diane Elizabeth Chinn was born in Galveston, TX, to Mary Katherine Singleton and Hamilton Chinn, Jr., on May 6, 1957.
Diane accepted Christ at an early age. DeeDee, as she was affectionately known by many, was educated through the public schools in the Galveston Independent School District. She was a proud graduate of the Class of 1975, “Simply the Best”! DeeDee was very popular and active during her high school years. She was a vivacious, stylish, fashionable force who had an infectious laugh. She was in the Ball High School Tornado Band, Secretary in the Black History Club, and most importantly, she was the Recording Secretary of the 1975 Senior Class.
DeeDee furthered her education at Prairie View A&M University in 1975. There she was known by many on campus. In 1976, she was crowned as one of the Campus Queens representing the Cool Phi Cool Social Club. Diane graduated in 1979 with a Degree in Education. After graduation, DeeDee began her teaching career.
Diane is proceeded in death by her parents, Mary Katherine Singleton and her step-father, Clinton Singleton, and brother, Michael Chinn, Sr.
Diane leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter and devoted only child, Danielle Elizabeth Malone, and precious granddaughter, Ari´ Rose-Denae Joshua, and brothers, Roland Chinn (Kaci), Kim Singleton (Antrese), nephews Michael Chinn, Jr., Dominique Chinn, Rodrick Bolden, Joseph Franklin, Jeremy Franklin, Jerrod Franklin, and Jerold Franklin, Kendall Singleton, Kimble Singleton, and nieces Rachel Chinn and Kymyaka Nolley, cousins Roberta “Cookie” Taylor, Frances Stovall-Lazare, uncle Walter Taylor (Carmen), and a host of family and friends.
