Charles King, 65, passed away on April 10, 2026, in Galveston, Texas. He was born on November 17, 1960, in Beaumont, Texas, to Annie Sylvester and Charles Hall, and was raised in Galveston, Texas. Charles was known as a hardworking and resourceful man who could fix just about anything. A true jack of all trades, he worked for Moody Gardens and spent much of his life as a handyman and auto mechanic, always willing to lend a hand whenever something needed repair. In his free time, Charles enjoyed fishing, working on cars, DJ-ing, and watching Korean dramas and reality shows. To those who knew him best, he was the “fun uncle,” someone who brought a good time wherever he went. He was also known for taking care of his family during difficult times, especially during hurricanes, always making sure everyone was safe and looked after.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Sylvester and Charles Hall; the mother of his children, Brenda King; and his siblings Viney Kegler, Jerry Ann Vallair, Jackie Sylvester, Joseph Kegler, Patricia Demauchet, and Johnnie Ray Kegler.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Charles Isaiah King, Christopher Medrano Sr., and Christina Alexander; the mother of his child and caretaker, Sarah Ann Underwood; his siblings Thelma Hall and Ivory Lee King; grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Charles King will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
