GALVESTON, TX — Annie Lee Figgins Smith made her debut on August 22, 1934 and received her call home on June 24, 2024. She was born to the proud parents of Alfred and Blanche Figgins. She later moved to Galveston Texas, where she began her career and started her family. She was married to George Smith of Galveston, Texas, until his passing in 2001. Annie is proceeded in death by her loving husband George A. Smith, parents Alfred and Blanche Figgins Sr., her son, Michael Singleton, and grandchild Crystal Smith. Annie was the baby of the bunch. She will be united in heaven with her 4 sisters and 5 brothers. She leaves a legacy of love with brother Herman Figgins Johnson (Robin), 7 children, Robert Singleton Jr. (Laverne), Gwendolyn Harper (David), Jacqueline Smith (Darrell), Theodora Foster (Darell) , Darrell Singleton (Simone), Georgette Davis (Anthony) plus 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Annie or nanny as she was affectionately called put on her crown and robe and made it over surrounded by family. She was 89 years young. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at St. John's Baptist church, 2901 Sealy Ave, Galveston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM. Services to follow at 11AM.
