Alma L Green (August) was born on October 8, 1930, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Alfred and Lillie B. Green. Ms. Alma retired from UTMB Oncology/ Hematology Department after 22 years of employment. She worked at American National Insurance Company 20 years, she then continued to spread her love as a Home Health Aide part time after retiring. Mount Moriah Baptist Church was her church home where she dedicated many years beside her sister, assisting with Vacation Bible School and other events. She confessed her faith in God and continued in service throughout her life. Alma loved traveling, cooking, and taking trips with her family and friends.
Ms. Alma gained her heavenly wings on Friday, October 25, 2024, at The Meridian of Galveston. In addition to her parents, Ms. Alma was preceded in death by her daughter Dorothy Hampton (Jr.), great granddaughter Adara Jack, sisters, Rowena Jenkins, Bettye Williams, Helen Drake and one brother Willie Green. Ms. Alma (August) leaves cherished memories with: son, Curtis Green of Texas City, TX., granddaughter, Twaleka Jack of San Antonio, TX., grandson, Tobias Killpatrick (Charlotte) of San Antonio, TX., and great grandson, Joshua Jack. Special thank you to niece Brenda Drake of Houston, TX., UTMB Staff, The Meridian of Galveston, Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Jerusalem Baptist Church and many others that prayed, visited, called or texted…Thank You as well.
A Celebration of life for Ms. Alma will be held on November 13, 2024, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 2728 Ave. K., Galveston, Texas. Viewing 11:00 am -12:00pm, service will begin at 12:00 noon.
